Training Curriculum
• Interns are given the opportunity to conduct clinical assessments.
• Interns are given the opportunity to conduct individual, group and family therapy with children, adolescents, and adults falling within a broad spectrum of Axis I and II diagnoses in addition to the Axis III diagnosis of cancer.
• Interns are exposed to a culturally diverse Latino/a population.
• Interns work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes social workers, psychotherapists, medical staff, and peer support counselors.
• Interns represent CDV to the larger community about the services of our agency.
• Interns learn about community resources through their work as case managers.
• Interns attend clinical consultation and supervision meetings at the agency and have the opportunity to attend relevant seminars and workshops outside the agency. Time is allotted for attendance at professional conferences.
• Interns have the opportunity to present their own work at case conferences to the multidisciplinary staff.
• Interns are able to work closely with more senior staff. They have ample opportunity to observe staff conducting assessments, leading conferences and conducting consultations with other agency staff.

Period of Training
The internship commitment is determined by the intern, the academic entity and agency agreement.

Requirements for Application
Qualified applicants meet the following criteria:
• Current enrollment in a Masters level program in Social Work or Counseling Psychology.
• Interest in clinical work with Latinos living with cancer and their families.
• Spanish language fluency.
